Membership Sites Are They Worth It?

Your Website Spokesperson

The question is asked frequently, is there any value in membership sites? This depends, if it’s static then maybe not, but if it’s interactive then the answer is yes.

Just like many things these days that change every 6 months, the Internet business is no different. For someone starting or already in this business, keeping up with the changes can be time consuming.

Find the Right Membership

Of course you need a membership that has elements pertaining to your interests. Will you find the perfect site? Never, but if you can find a membership that helps you with your top three issues then you’ve done pretty well.

A few things to look for:

  • Look for a monthly fee you can afford
  • I like a site that uses paypal or some other processing platform. The reason is you can cancel directly with that service and the membership doesn’t have your credit card number. A common complaint is it’s hard to get the membership to cancel your account and some unscrupulous companies continue to charge you.
  • You need some form of Q & A format.
  • You need a membership that updates their tutorials every 6 months or so.

This last point is dependent on the subject your into.

I think the biggest fear that people have is point #2, getting ripped off. This is why more memberships are offering these third party payment options. It’s really as easy as making a quick call to the processor to cancel. Then they notify the membership owner for you.

Membership Benefits

Anytime your learning something new you will have questions. If the site has a forum or possibly a few webinars monthly, then your questions can be answered.

Chances are a good membership site will have a lot more tutorials than you will use at the start. This is good, because as you grow the information you need it there.

As mentioned, things change frequently these days and a good site will keep updated and current.

It’s like anything else, if you feel comfortable and your benefiting from 50% of the information, that’s a lot better than not having a place to turn to at all.

Lets not forget the value of time. If the information is useful and saves you time and frustration, then that’s worth money.

Security

If you feel the membership is trusted, if the information keeps you moving forward, then this can alleviate bottle necks. Bottle necks can be frustrating, spending hours upon hours looking for answers. Your membership site can turn hours into minutes with the right answer.

Look at it like this, the right site will provide you with a peace of mind. You always have a place to go when in need of advice or answers. The other thing is you trust them, you know the advice is good, that’s a secure feeling.

I suggest you look at Chris Farrells Membership Site. I think you will agree he has constructed a very nice site. He will even let you try it out for a few weeks for only $4.95. Most importantly is during those 2 weeks ask yourself, is this the training I need?
