- Keywords – this is how the search engines match your website with what someone is looking for.
- Content – your site needs words that tell the search engines what your subject is, then it needs to answer what a customer wants.
- Backlinks – these are links to your site. Search engines rate your popularity on these links.
- Age – search engines are more sophisticated these days. There are multiple factors affecting SEO, but it seems age has become a bit more of a factor as of late.

Your site is constructed using code. The search engines send spiders out to scan the billions of sites on the Internet. If the code used to make your site is really bad, then it makes their job harder. The question is, how bad is bad?
