Starting An Internet Business – We Make it Simple

The mistake I made early on was starting an Internet business plan with someone elses plan, not one of my own. I would have been much further along by learning the basics first, before trying the easy money route. There’s no need to take the bumpy road unless that’s the way you like it.

This is not a financial plan, but a plan for starting an Internet business, the nuts and bolts of what your need and the path to start.

Time Allocation

The one thing we all struggle with is time, in the case of your business let me tell you the secret right now, use 80% of your time on content and traffic, use the other 20% on your website. It’s so easy to get lost in building a blog or site, the real building of a business is providing information and getting traffic.

As I mentioned to you in an earlier posting I made mistakes, one was getting caught up making sites and hoping to get traffic. I have corrected this, you do it right, allocate your time where it will make you money. Good content will make up for any flaws your site might have.

The Plan

Your Internet business plan should be one that makes sense for you and is consistent with what works on the Internet. Lets look at a list of Must Have stuff to start with:

• A computer
• A high speed connection
• Time
• Desire

That’s it, later when you decide which way you want to go, and you can get a lot of suggestions from all kinds of Guru’s, you will need more tools. Most anything you do on the Internet will require a medium like a website, a blog, a simple one page ad, something to communicate what you are marketing. The first thing you need to learn is what the business is all about.

I have about 15 sites that are subject specific and deliver focused information. How can you make money from this? Just like they do from T.V. advertising, the more people that visit the more advertising money you make. This is just one way to make money, when you are starting an Internet business you might find this attractive for you. Learning the many ways to make money is essential to knowing how to start your business. In some form or fashion you are building Internet real estate.

Now the challenge will be all those millions of other people doing the same thing. Many will fail because their bubble burst when reality set in, the easy money didn’t happen. You know better, Right?

How To Choose The Right Path For Your Internet Business

I’ll start by telling you why I chose the path I did. I stumbled for months trying affiliate marketing, selling ebooks, offering debt advice and toying with adsense. I even dipped my toes into the MLM pool, but feared the NFL (No friends left), I wasn’t good at any except I liked to write, write articles and blogs. Then I read about passive income, this is income that keeps coming even when your not there. Unlike a job where your body is required to be there to get paid, after I set-up a site and do a few other things it keeps making money without me. If the site starts to falter, I tune it up and send it on its way again.

This is why I chose the path of building focused sites, people can get good information and I get paid for the advertising. At this time there are people that can make products a lot better than I can, there are people who can teach a lot better than I can, but I can hold my own when it comes to writing and providing these information sites. This all came after making a lot of mistakes and spending money on the Guru’s Stuff. It was a great learning experience, but you can do a lot better.

If I had to do it all over again I would pay a mentor, someone who I trust and knows how to start an Internet business. I’m going to make a couple of recommendations and ya, if you join one I will make a few bucks from it, but you better know I don’t make recommendations randomly. The reason is my ass is on the line when I do, so I’m pretty sure of the product.

The first place you should take a look at is FREE and it’s called How To Make Money For Beginners, it’s by a guy named Grizzly. I learned a lot from him, but if it gets to confusing bookmark it and go back at a later date. DON’T INFO OVERLOAD!!

The second place you should consider is Chris Farrells Membership Site. I’ve known Chris for about a year now, he has built an Internet business based on mailing list marketing and has done quite well. He was a radio host, I believe in the UK  and comes across well on video. You will get all the information you need to start your Internet business in one place, Chris teaches everything in a clear, concise format. You will save yourself a lot of time and headaches, I think he charges $4.95 for 2 weeks then $27.00 a month. I wish this was built when I started, but knowing how pig headed I am who knows if I would have listened. Take a look, Chris is a good, honest, high quality guy. For a few bucks you can get a look at what you will need to get started.

Your Internet business plan doesn’t have to be complicated, I’ll tell you exactly what I do. I take 1 hour in the morning to go over my emails. The next 3 hours I continue building my information (adsense) sites. Next, 1 hour for lunch or maybe exercise. Then, 3 hours working on this site and a few breaks in between. Optional – 1 hour at night for more emails, That’s it. Now, this will change when it’s time to integrate other income streams.

Caution: You can become addicted to this and destroy your health, that’s one reason for a plan, keep your life in order.
