I don’t think we have to go over who Google is, but their adsense program might not be that familiar to some people. If not, read about making money with adsense here.

Once your more familiar with this form of advertising you’ll want to find better ways to boost your income using adsense.

If the primary goal of your site is to use adsense for income, then you need to keep in tune with what’s working on your site.

There are four basic things that are covered on millions of sites, they are…

1. Ad Placement
2. Ad Size
3. Colors
4. Relevancy

Lets take a quick look at these factors.

Placement – as you see on this site I found the best placement to be within the content. The intention of this site is not purely for adsense income, so I have limited the ad space. It really depends on the template you use and how aggressive you want to be in selling this type of Google advertising on your site. If you intend to make money from adsense, then there are several placements you can use. The key to boosting your adsense income is testing, it’s that simple.

Size – in general, I like to make the ad blocks a little bigger than the text size. This way the readers eyes will continually be attracted to the ads. You still want to provide good content, but remember your still selling advertising, a reader needs to feel your ads provide more answers.

Colors – if you look at other sites you’ll see a wide spectrum of colors. The most common ones used are green, blue, red and gray. From these there are a variety of shades you can play with. Again, the best way to boost your adsense income is to try different combination’s.

Relevancy – be clear in your post title and first paragraph. Google will match the most relevant ads with your area only if it can understand your content. This means you can’t jam a dozen topics in one posting and expect Google to figure out which one your targeting. Take this post for example, I’m targeting three different keywords all related to boosting income with adsense. If I wanted to target “Making Money Online Selling Cars” I would start a new post.

How Content Will Boost Your Income With Adsense

Your content is the link between your reader and the advertisement. You want your content to be helpful to a visitor, but you don’t want to give them all the answers. Why, because you want them to get that from Googles advertisers.

I can explain to a reader how to find a good dentist, and then hope I did a good enough job so they will click the ads to find one. Google, through the adsense ads, displays the relevant dentists for the location of that reader.

This is one reason why Google leads the pack in this type of advertising. Now you can see how the order of your content can boost your income with Google adsense.

How a Visitor Finds You Will Boost Your Adsense Revenue

Getting your website on the first page of the search engine rankings definitely will boost your adsense revenues.

Google views these readers as highly motivated buyers, for this they reward you with better paying clicks. This compared to someone finding your site through an article you wrote. I don’t make the rules, this is the way it is from Googles rule book.

You might have noticed by now that making money with adsense is a bit more than just slapping up a few blocks of Google ads and waiting for the thousands to roll in. No quick bucks here.

Adsense Income is Not an Exact Science

Markets change and people are more adsense blind. This means they tend to ignore these ads as time has passed. In some cases they immediately leave your site if they see to many ads.

Some of my best sites (so I thought) turned out to be duds. You can overcome this somewhat if you try blending the ad block in with the content. It all comes back to testing.

The balance between your content, what ads your selling and where your readers are coming from dictate if you should blend the ads or make them stand out using different colors. A slight change in color, making the ads blend with your text type, can increase your adsense income by 20%.

Boost Adsense Income With Videos

There has been good results, perpetuated by Google themselves, by placing ads next to youtube videos.

There are adsense ads in youtube videos, but Google has suggested you can boost your income by placing a medium sized ad block next to a embeded video on your website.

It’s against Googles policy to put pictures, that suggest clicking ads, next to the ad blocks themselves, but they give the thumbs up to using videos.

This technique can boost your income by more than 30% according to people who have made the changes.

Remember, if your selling advertisments make sure your content, whether video or text,  provides a visitor with good information that connects their problem with your advertiser’s solutions.  You’ll be doing justice to the person paying for the click and you’ll probably get repeat customers too.
